How SBC Awards differs from IGA and EGR
The three industry awards shows that operators and affiliates track in earnest are IGA (smallest, oldest, most traditional), EGR Operator Awards (data-driven, editorially judged), and SBC Awards (largest by attendance, most affiliate-coverage).
SBC Awards positions itself deliberately as the affiliate-economy ceremony — roughly half the categories cover affiliate-side performance, where IGA and EGR each have one or two affiliate categories. For affiliate networks, super-affiliates, and operator affiliate-management teams, the SBC Awards is the night.
Categories that matter
Affiliate-side: Affiliate Programme of the Year (the most watched), Casino Affiliate Programme of the Year, Affiliate Manager of the Year, Casino Affiliate of the Year, Sports Affiliate of the Year, Compliance Affiliate of the Year.
Operator-side: Casino Operator of the Year, Mobile Operator of the Year, Innovation in Casino, Customer Service Operator of the Year, Best Loyalty Programme.
Supplier-side: Slots Provider of the Year, Live Casino Supplier of the Year, Payment Provider of the Year.
Format
Black-tie dinner in one of the larger halls of Feira Internacional de Lisboa, immediately following day two of SBC Summit Lisbon. Roughly 2,000 guests across the room — larger than IGA and EGR, comparable to the night-of attendance for SiGMA Awards.
Nomination cycle
Open nominations May–July. Shortlists late August. Voting combines judging panels (industry executives, retired affiliate operators) and registered peer voting through the SBC affiliate network — heavier peer weighting than EGR.
Access and cost
Ticket €450 single, table €4,500. Available to SBC Summit Lisbon pass holders first, then public.
VegasHunter coverage angle
We track SBC Awards results primarily for affiliate-economy signals — which affiliate programmes are gaining recognition vs which are losing positioning, which operators have built customer-service track records strong enough to win categories on player-experience scoring. Our editorial scoring weights operator trust signals, and SBC Awards results in customer-service categories are a useful corroboration.
Why this matters
SBC Awards has the heaviest affiliate-category coverage of any major industry ceremony — categories like Affiliate Programme of the Year, Affiliate Manager of the Year, and Affiliate of the Year carry the most weight in the affiliate-economy talent market.
